Artificial Reefs at the Ocean Park
Exploring Sustainability and Environmental Education

At the Ocean Pool area of the Adventure Island Aquarium in Farglory Ocean Park, a 3D-printed artificial reef has been installed. Not only is its design unique, but it also allows corals to attach and grow, providing a safe new habitat for marine life.

This innovative project comes from the 'Local Guardians Program' by the Marine Conservation Administration, Council of Agriculture, and is a collaboration between the Hualien Marine Ecological Conservation Association, National Dong Hwa University’s Energy Technology Center, and Farglory Ocean Park. By repurposing bottle caps and marine waste, the project transforms discarded materials into artificial reefs with both ecological and educational value, showcasing an innovative approach to marine conservation.

This deepens understanding and practice of environmental protection, encouraging everyone to contribute to safeguarding our blue planet.
